To open an account you must provide:
- U.S. Social Security Number or tax identification number, as applicable, for business or organizations
- Proof of residency, U.S. Citizenship or U.S. permanent resident
- Driver's license or other U.S. issued ID (passport, permanent resident card, state-issued non driver's ID, U.S. military ID or U.S. military-dependent ID)
- Current physical address and previous physical address (if you have lived at your current address for less than 2 years)
- $5 for your initial deposit funded by a debit card or bank account with a routing number
GTE Financial will perform a public records inquiry for all applicants' background checks. If you are under the age of 18, you will need a parent or guardian to complete your application.

To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain a completed certification Regarding Beneficial Ownership of Legal Entity Customer, to verify and record information that identifies each person who opens an account. What this means for you: when you open an account, we will ask for your name, physical address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see your driver's license or other identifying documents.
