Emergency loan

GTE is offering Emergency Loans to members impacted by recent weather disasters. We encourage you to explore our options.

  1. Skip-A-Payment is offered on qualifying loans only one time per 12 calendar months. If a member has multiple qualifying loans, they may skip each loan at different times. Interest will continue to accrue on the loan balance (including the skipped payment). As a result, (a) you will be required to pay more interest during the loan term; (b) you will be required to make more periodic payments on the loan until the loan balance and all interest and fees thereon are paid in full; and (c) the expected loan term will be extended. This extension in no way otherwise alters the original terms and conditions of the loan contract as previously disclosed to the borrower(s). Interest will continue to accrue on the unpaid balance of the loan at the agreed rate. If you elected GAP coverage, claim coverage does not extend to the amount of the payment(s) deferred. In addition, the coverage will not be extended beyond the original maturity date. It is your responsibility as the member to stop or suspend any recurring automatic payment(s) that were previously established with a financial institution or vendor other than GTE Financial, and you agree to pay any fees incurred by stopping the automatic payment(s). If your loan is set up on a recurring draft that is established with GTE Financial, the payment must be skipped no less than 3 business days prior to the payment date for the loan to allow GTE Financial reasonable time to stop payment from processing.   2. All loan applications are subject to review of eligibility and approval. The Annual Percentage Rate (APR) is accurate as of 2/1/2022. The APR for the GTE Instant Cash loan is a fixed rate for the duration of the loan. The APR will be 28.00% APR. For example, a GTE Instant Cash loan for $1,000 with a 12-month term (1 year) at 28.00% APR will have a monthly payment of $96.51. Other terms, payments, and loan amounts are available. The minimum loan amount is $200, and the maximum loan amount is $2,000. If your payment is 11 or more days late, there is a Late Payment Fee of 5% of the payment due. Loans are available to members who meet certain eligibility requirements, who have been with the credit union a minimum of 90 days and are considered a member in good standing. GTE Instant Cash loan is not available in Community Financial Centers; it is only available through online or mobile banking. No minimum credit score required. A $20 Non-Refundable Fee will be assessed even if the loan is denied. Please verify your account balance in GTE Online or Mobile banking to ensure you have enough funds to cover the $20 non-refundable application fee. In addition, you acknowledge that if the deposit account from which you have authorized GTE to debit the $20 Non-Refundable Application Fee contains insufficient funds to pay the fee, the debit may cause that account to be overdrawn or increase the amount by which is it overdrawn.
